
Henry Ivey is a passionate security and technology evangelist with more than 25 years of experience architecting, designing, building, and implementing network and security controls at Fortune 1-100 companies. He is a recognized subject matter expert in financial services and payment processing security, and one of an elite group of practitioners who has delivered enterprise-grade security at the highest levels of global commerce.
Throughout his career, Henry has held senior security and technology leadership roles at prominent organizations including Walmart.com, Gap Inc., and Blackhawk Network. As Head of Security at Walmart.com, he was one of five core engineers who architected and implemented the initial Silicon Valley launch, joining as employee #15 and helping build the site from inception to launch in October 2000. He also led the tiger team that tracked down and captured the largest online fraud ring of its time, responsible for $1.4 million in theft across five major retail websites.
As principal security architect and later CISO at Blackhawk Network, Henry designed and maintained enterprise security protecting multi-billion dollars in gift cards and prepaid credit cards across POS, mobile wallet, AWS Cloud, and redemption systems. Earlier, at Gap Inc., he created the company's enterprise security framework, including service-oriented architecture, authentication and authorization, encryption, governance, and compliance controls for SOX, Visa PCI, HIPAA, and PII legislation.
His expertise spans security architecture, digital transformation, financial services, compliance, cloud, retail security, data centers, enterprise networking, encryption, forensics, and penetration techniques. He has built, supported, and led security implementations throughout the entire product lifecycle, from the establishment of security policies to the development of solutions architecture.
AI and Emerging Technology: Henry sits on multiple advisory and technical boards for emerging companies across the A2P, SaaS, medical reporting, and life sciences fields. As CTO of Rymedi, he co-created a patent and developed the roadmap for AI-driven blockchain solutions revolutionizing life sciences and healthcare data. More recently, as CISO and Advisor to Matchbook AI, he helped drive over 300% growth with 84% of clients in the Fortune 150.
