StrataFusion’s IT Community Leadership:

Consortium for Information Systems Executives (CISE)

Several of our team members participated with other Silicon Valley IT leaders  in founding CISE in 2004 as a peer group and community forum for Bay Area CIOs and Senior IT Executives. Some of our Partners are active in this self-governed organization, which meets monthly to explore topics  focused on ensuring that Information Technology does matter (contrary to Nicholas Carr) and is used to support business effectiveness and profitability.   Member participation is key, and the a diverse group of member CIO’s share  their experience in this community of practice. CISE also contributes to The CIO Scholarship Foundation, and sponsors the annual CIO Marathon annual fundraiser held at the Capital Club in San Jose in October.

CIO Development Program (CDP)

CISE CIO Development Program was established in 2007 as a forum to develop the next generation of CIO’s. The group is sponsored by CISE, whose membership volunteer as mentors for the CDP members and speak at the monthly meetings. Members are direct reports to CIO’s and/or IT leaders for smaller companies. The group is self governed by members who serve on councils for one year terms. Members are expected to actively participate in organization and contribute to content of monthly meetings. Program is limited to 25 members and prospective members must go through a nomination and approval process.

Society for Information Management (SIM)

StrataFusion team members have served as President and as officers for the Bay Area Society for Information Management.

StrataFusion understands that social responsibility enhances our reputation and strengthens long-term relationships with clients, partners, and others who prefer doing business with a responsible corporate citizen.

StrataFusion believes in conducting business with respect and concern for the environment. For example, we are frequently asked to evaluate the Service Provider community for their environmental programs and overall awareness as a part of their global services delivery footprint.

CIO Scholarship Foundation

The CIO Scholarship Foundation is an IRS 503c charity, established to help under-privileged students pursue Information Technology and Engineering degrees. To date, over $150K has been raised for scholarships at several participating colleges and universities. Royalties from our books are donated to the foundation, along with proceeds from the Bay Area CIO focus groups.

GLOW Foundation

The Glow Foundation www.GlowFoundation.org was founded in 2006 to address the financial barriers that high potential, low income students face in attending and graduating from college. They make that "impossible dream" of college a reality for our students. The Glow Foundation combines financial education, mentoring, and monetary grants to ensure that deserving students attend college.  StrataFusion contributes to Glow by sponsoring a table at the annual Gala in April, by serving on the Glow Board, and by providing volunteer mentoring to students.
